This fermenter is made of ultra-smooth PET, making it easy to clean. Simply use a small scoop of "P B W" and wipe it clean after soaking for 5 minutes. No scrubbing required.
Large 120 mm opening
The opening at the top is significantly larger than in older "Snub Nose" or other similar fermenters. This bad boy has a 120 mm opening, so even brewers with large hands can easily reach inside, making cleaning even easier.
Pressure rated
This fermenter is pressure-rated up to 2.5 bar, so you can force carbonate just like in a keg. You can use this fermenter for closed transfers and significantly reduce oxygen exposure.
Crystal clear
The walls of the "All Rounder" fermenter are crystal clear, so you can see what is happening inside. This makes it very easy to visually determine how fermentation is progressing, how yeast is flocculating, etc.
Impermeable
PET plastic is not permeable like some other fermenters made of PP or HDPE. The fermenter wall is a much better gas barrier, so the product stays fresh for longer.
Does not transfer taste or aroma
Other HDPE fermentation vessels are usually porous enough to carry over taste and aroma from one batch to the next.
Please note:
When using this vessel under pressure, you must perform a water pressure test to ensure your connections are airtight. To do this, fill the "FermZilla" vessel with water, then apply at least 15 kPa of pressure to the vessel. Check for leaks around all caps/threads.
Sometimes these units may arrive with slight dents/dimples/creases caused during transit; this is a reality of transporting large thin-walled blow-molded vessels. Do not panic, these fermentation vessels are designed to withstand such minor deformations. This was necessary to incorporate into the design so they could withstand the occasional implosion caused by cold crashing and rough transport without compromising their integrity and ability to hold high pressure. All minor dents will pop out and settle during use and when under positive pressure; they are only an issue and grounds for replacement in the rare event that white stress marks start to appear or the plastic is compromised.
If you are fermenting under pressure, it is advised to perform a pressure test to ensure the FermZilla tank is airtight.
Never pour water above 55°C into the "FermZilla" fermenter. Deformation may occur.
