"Château Roasted Barley" is a highly roasted barley that gives the beer a malty, grainy and coffee flavor. It has many of the characteristics of a Château Black malt, but is much more complex. In fact, it has some starch that can be converted during the wort, thus influencing the specific gravity. Château roasted barley also adds sweetness to the beer. Compared to Château Chocolat and Château Black malt beers, roasted barley produces the lightest colored foam. Gives the beer a deep mahogany color and a very strong roasted barley flavor. Adds dryness to porters and stouts.

Used for Stouts, Porters up to 10%, Brown and other dark styles up to 4%
