Simpsons BLACK - English Malt
Black Malt is a heavily roasted malt that imparts intense roasted, burnt, and coffee-like flavors, but without excessive astringency (harshness/mouth-drying).
Along with a deep black hue, Black Malt adds a strong, dry bitterness and prominent roasted character, making it ideal for porters, stouts, and other very dark beers where a clear, pronounced roasted malt presence is desired.
Typically used up to 5%. Black Malt is perfect for brewers looking to enhance deep color intensity and add complexity to dark beers, and in very small amounts, it can be a convenient color corrector in lighter beer styles too.
