"Benchy" ice cream and sorbet maker (2L)
This machine, featuring an elegant, modern design and robust construction, has a 2-liter capacity, making it perfect for small parties, pop-up bars, or cafes.
Its user-friendly interface ensures simple operation, and adjustable settings allow you to control the desired temperature and consistency of your frozen drinks.
Requirements for making slush drinks
If you are making a non-alcoholic frozen drink, the sugar content must be at least about 4% of the total liquid volume. For the best proper "slushy" consistency, a sugar concentration of 13–17% (i.e., a 13–17 Brix value) is recommended.
Plan ahead
Turn on the "Benchy Slushy" at least 1 hour before guests arrive. Additional time may be needed if settings need to be adjusted.
Set the mode in advance
If you are using the "Frozen Cocktail" setting with a cocktail mix that has a higher alcohol by volume (ABV) percentage, lower the temperature to –8°C or –9°C and save/lock this setting as the default "Frozen Cocktail" mode. See the user manual for instructions on how to do this.
Follow alcohol recommendations
If using high-proof alcohol or spirits of 35% or more, use 120 ml of alcohol for every 710 ml of total recipe volume.
Pour out some drink to create space
If the drink is filled to the maximum and does not freeze to a "slush" consistency, pour out some of the liquid and serve with ice cubes. This will create space to dilute the ingredients.
Use in the right environment
Do not use the "Benchy Slushy" in environments where the temperature exceeds 35°C. Use the device indoors or under cover in a cool environment.
Don't overdo it
The total alcohol content of the recipe must be between 2.8% and 16% ABV. Exceeding this limit will prevent the drink from freezing to the proper consistency.
Dilute if necessary
If the drink contains too much alcohol, add 60 ml of water per serving, wait another 30 minutes, and repeat if necessary.
Low-sugar or sugar-free mixes
Use low-sugar or sugar-free mixes only when making frozen cocktails with alcohol. They cannot be used without alcohol.
Smart error diagnostics
The device features an advanced error detection system that protects the mixing auger from damage and helps identify issues.
E1: fan is not spinning. Check if the fan blades are blocked or if the rear ventilation opening is clogged.
E2: temperature sensor is operating outside the normal range. Check if it is properly connected and if the temperature sensor cable is disconnected.
E3: motor is jammed. It is likely that the temperature is set too low and the tank has frozen over. Pour warm water through the top of the device to melt the blockage, then turn the device off, back on, and restart it.
