Belgian ales are strong, dark beers originating in Belgium. Belgian ales are known for their malty sweetness, chocolate, caramel and toffee flavours. They may also contain fruity esters such as banana and a slight tang from the yeast. The hop bitterness is usually low to medium. Belgian ales come in a variety of strengths, but are most often between 6 and 8% alcohol by volume.

Belgian dubbels are a versatile beer style that can be enjoyed with a variety of dishes. They pair well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and cheeses.
